Hans Bert Kupin served as General Manager at the Jolly Beach Resort from 1983 to 1991. He worked directly with Dr. Erhart, the developer of both Jolly Beach and Jolly Harbour. During his stint at Jolly Beach, Jolly Harbour was in the development stage. On completion of Jolly Harbour in November 1991, Dr. Erhart gave the contract to Hans for the rental pool to manage and rent the villas. Hans extended this rental pool to new homeowners who were buying villas at Jolly Harbour and wanted an agency to manage and rent it for them. It is out of this that HBK Villas became a reality. HBK Villas was registered and incorporated on August 28th, 1992 at the offices of E. Ann Henry and Associates. HBK originally started with 20 villas but has an inventory of close to 100 villas. Hans has always pride himself in being a people’s person and always endeavors to make sure that owners and guests alike are well taken care of.

James Richards joined HBK Villa Rentals and management in July 1997 as a handyman. He worked previously at Hertz Rent a Car from January 1994 to June 1997 as a Sales Representative. In 1997 he was awarded the Ministry of Tourism plaque for Best Employee in Customer Service. James was transferred to Front Office in July 1998 and was then promoted to Office Supervisor in 1999. In June 2000 he won a scholarship from the Caribbean Hotel Association to pursue studies at Cornell University where he gained a Certification in Hospitality Management. He was awarded another scholarship from CHA in 2002 where he obtained an Advanced Certification in Hospitality Management at the same University. James was successful in earning yet another scholarship where he gained a certificate in Elements of Food and Beverage Control at Ecole Hoteliere Lausanne, Switzerland. Team Leader of HBK Villas James Richards has managed the business for over 5 years and brings with him a whole host of experience and enthusiasm for the business and his role within it. As a full service villa rental agent, HBK Villas organizes everything from renting the villas to holiday makers, long term tenants to ensure villas are clean, gardens tended, and staff paid.

His objective is that guests have a wonderful holiday – it’s a simple as that. But…he cannot do it on his own.
